About

My name is Pamela! I'm a curious and passionate I’m a Senior UX Researcher, UX Teacher and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advocate based in Toronto, Canada with a background in Cognitive Science and Archaeology. I love talking to people and asking questions in order to solve everyday problems. I'm also deeply passionate about equity, inclusion, and justice for all people.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Carleton University where I majored in cognitive science with a concentration in psychology & cognition and a minor in archaeology. During my time there, I was an experienced student researcher studying privacy risk perception of artificial intelligence chatbot doctors. I previously have participated in the Students as Partners Research Program with the Carleton University Discovery Centre. Additionally, you can also find my previous research published in The Corvus Journal of Classics and Ancient History.

My journey into UX began in 2019 when I joined the herd at Jumping Elephants as a UX research and design consultant. I've worked with many public sector clients, such as the National Research Council, The Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner, the Treasury Board Secretariat, just to name a few. Additionally, I've worked as a UX designer at an insurance startup called Slice Labs. Currently, I work at Jumping Elephants as a UX research and design consultant.

Out of the office

I love to create and experiment in new artistic mediums. I have a knack for painting, drawing, music, poetry, and video editing. I post all of my work on my Instagram page, @artimitatespamela. I also love quad roller skating. You can find me at your local roller rink in a pair of sparkly gold skates!
